Taking Care Of Bad Breath

Having bad breath also known as halitosis can be embarrassing. Bacteria that build up on the back of the tongue or in between the teeth may be the cause of this. We all know how important it is to brush our teeth everyday but we tend to forget that a lot of that bacteria is on the tongue. Some toothbrushes these days come with a built-in tongue scraper. It is recommended that after using the scraper on the tongue, to rinse it several times in hot water to prevent bacteria being passed back into the mouth.

Some reviews show that certain toothpaste such as Colgate total can help with bad breath because it has Triclosan, an antibacterial ingredient, held in place by Gantrez, a copolymer, attaches to teeth that protect them for 12 hours. If a person used this toothpaste at least 2 times a day, the teeth are protected from bacteria for 24 hours. Some people feel that this type of toothpaste is the greatest invention in fighting bad breath and can usually be bought pretty cheap.

Now, after finding the best toothpaste for bad breath a person may want to consider using some type of mouthwash. One type would be Retardex. This can be bought as a mouthwash, oral spray and toothpaste. It has been clinically proven to eliminate bad breath, kill bacteria, alcohol-free, sugar-free and suitable for sensitive teeth. This is a non-foaming toothpaste that should be used at least twice a day to prevent bacteria build-up. If this is used with the spray and oral rinse, it can help whiten the teeth as well.

There are also systems available that can help with bad breath such as, Breathrx. This is a three step process. First is to use the toothpaste that has fluoride protection, tartar control protection, and a clinically developed Zytex formulation. The next step is to scrape with the Breathrx tongue care, this helps reduce bad breath and kill bacteria on the tongue. Finally, the antibacterial, alcohol-free mouth rinse. This can help fight odor causing Volatile Sulfur Compounds along with helping to prevent plaque that can lead to Gingivitis. It is also sugar-free.

A final reminder: it is always best to first consult a qualified doctor or physician as you might be risking your health by not doing so.
